Julie Swann MBA, MHA, BSN, RN, NEA-BC provides strategic leadership and has nursing oversight for a 410-bed tertiary care facility. Over her 25-year career she has had oversight for all inpatient nursing, ED, invasive and non-invasive cardiology as well as perioperative services. Recently Julie has taken on the role of leading virtual nursing across the inpatient continuum for Emory Healthcare, an exciting venture bringing innovation and technology to reduce the burden of nurses and provide an enhanced experience for our patients and their loved ones. Julie leads the way in utilizing professional governance to the nursing teams ensuring the voice from the bedside facilitates decisions in patient care. Last year, in conjunction with the operational leaders, built an interprofessional council structure to support communication and education across all hospital departments. In her role as CNO, she has assisted the organization in maintaining the ANCC Magnet Designation achieving their 7th Designation and the first to receive designation with Distinction. Julie is serving her second term as a practice representative on the American Association of Colleges of Nurses (AACN) Board of Directors, has received the Daisy Nurse Leader award, ESJH Mercy Leader Award, received the March of Dimes Nurse Leader of the Year, various publications and has presented at conferences locally and at the national level. |
