Dr. Peter Najjar

Peter A. Najjar, M.D., M.B.A. is an Assistant Professor of Surgery with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, specializing in colon and rectal surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency and colorectal fellowship at Harvard's Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA.

He is also the Medical Director for Clinical Operations and Vice President of Clinical Innovation with the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality and Assistant Program Director of the Johns Hopkins Health System’s Management Fellowship.

In his clinical practice, Dr. Najjar conducts advanced colorectal care including robotic and laparoscopic approaches for benign and malignant disease. In addition to his clinical degree, he received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and completed the Harvard Medical School Fellowship in Quality and Patient Safety. His work with the Armstrong Institute seeks to protect patients from harm, improve their outcomes and experiences, and eliminate disparities. Dr. Najjar’s research focuses on making care safe, affordable, and patient-centered from the clinic to the operating room.
