Healing Congenital Dislocation of the Hip (CDH)

"In the last two years, I suffered difficulties walking and pains in the sole of my foot and hip. The burden added to my shoe to help me balance felt like I was pulling bricks. As if those challenges weren't enough, my constant fear of losing my balance and embarrassment about wearing that strange shoe didn't help", shared Nada Fakhro.

Nada Fakhro suffers from a 7-centimeter dislocation of her left hip, called a congenital dislocation of the hip. It occurs at birth and affects more females than males. 52-year-old Nada overlooked the challenges of her condition until recent years. As she advanced in age, the severity of her pain affected the quality of her life.

Congenital Dislocation of the Hip (CDH)

Congenital dislocation is a pathological condition that affects the hip joint that connects the femur and the pelvic bone, where the head of the femur comes out of the annular cavity in the pelvis either fully or partially. This condition is detected at birth and requires necessary remedial action. The delay in diagnosis can lead to joint deformation and increased complications that result in joint pain, limping, and a difference in the length of the legs, forcing the affected foot to be shorter than the other, requiring surgical intervention.

Nada sought out effective cures and consulted many doctors to find any surgical treatment that could give her hope for a life without suffering pain. That finally became possible when she met Dr. Mojieb Al-Haque Manzary, an Orthopedic Surgeon and head of the Orthopedic Surgery Department at JHAH. Dr. Manzary conducted a successful hip replacement operation that helped Nada improve her quality of life and rid her of that pain. Nada shared,

I got all the help, care, and attention from Dr. Manzary. He answered all my queries and concerns and made my dream come true!

Today, I feel very confident when I walk, as I no longer pay attention to my strange shoe or feel pain in my feet. I cannot thank God and then Dr. Manzary enough for that. It became possible to treat my condition, a condition deemed impossible by doctors before him.
