How eye surgery at JHAH has helped save the sight of three local residents ›
Bahrain, October 15, 2019 – Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) was placed in the top three Corporate Excellence candidates at last night’s Leadership Excellence for Women Awards (LEWAS), held at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre.
Nomination for the award recognizes organizations that have excelled in initiatives to encourage, advance, hire and retain women through inclusive hiring and development practices. Saudi Aramco won the award and the other finalist in the category with JHAH was Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company.
LEWAS is the forerunner in the GCC to honor talented and influential women, address pressing issues, develop new and better opportunities and create long-lasting collaborations and partnerships. The award program is dedicated to recognizing professional excellence and celebrates those who demonstrate innovation, leadership and talent while advocating for women’s empowerment, in both academic and business sectors.

First female nursing doctorate graduates from an in-kingdom program

In cooperation with the Saudi Aramco Driving Center, JHAH female employees have the opportunity to attend driving training during working hours. Over 100 employees have enrolled since the initiative began in December 2018.
For the first time at JHAH, female security guards have been hired. Six employees began in August 2019.
JHAH female employees have the opportunity to participate in the Women in Leadership program, a five-day intensive program that raises leadership skills in self-management and people management.
LEWAS began in 2013 with the objective to Engage, Empower and Elevate women. Since its inception, it has recognized and honored both men and women who are not only making a mark in the Energy industry but are also being an advocate for women empowerment in the GCC. LEWAS seeks to address the challenges and opportunities for women leaders in the Energy industry. Over the years, LEWAS has gathered women leaders and empowered and motivated women to engage in discussions and panels that address the issue.
