Baking a Wonder: Cinnamon Nut Cake

Nutritious, filling, and perfect for family dinners

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 cup barley
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1 zucchini, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1–2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt
  • Water or broth

Instructions

  1. Sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add chicken and brown slightly.
  3. Add barley, vegetables, spices, and broth.
  4. Simmer for 45–60 minutes until thick and hearty.
