Emergency CT System Transforms Imaging Speed

Transforming Emergency Care with Faster, Smarter Imaging

JHAH has introduced a groundbreaking CT imaging system in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) area of Building 60. The advanced platform is the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia, positioning JHAH at the forefront of emergency imaging innovation.

The system delivers the fastest CT rotation speed on the market—0.23 seconds—allowing whole‑heart imaging in a single heartbeat. This capability is especially critical for unstable emergency patients, where every second influences outcomes. Integrated AI tools further streamline workflow, reduce setup time and accelerate scan initiation, enabling clinicians to act quickly and confidently.

A True Door‑to‑Scan Model for Critical Cases

Strategically located on the ground floor with two dedicated access points, the new CT system supports rapid patient flow from the Emergency Room, Urgent Care and Observation Unit. This layout enables a true door‑to‑scan model for stroke and trauma cases, significantly reducing time to diagnosis.

A reading room positioned directly beside the scanner ensures immediate interpretation, which supports faster clinical decisions and stronger response efficiency in time-sensitive emergencies.

For patients, the impact is profound:

  • Faster diagnosis during critical moments
  • Reduced waiting times
  • More accurate imaging for complex conditions

improved coordination between emergency teams and radiology

“This technology allows our clinicians to deliver lifesaving care with greater speed and precision,” said Mohammed Al-Shehry, Special Imaging Director. “By bringing advanced imaging directly into the emergency pathway, we are giving patients the best possible chance when minutes matter most.”

The new CT imaging service strengthens JHAH’s emergency care capabilities and reflects the organization’s commitment to investing in technologies that directly enhance patient safety and overall clinical performance.
