Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare Ranked 3rd Best Hospital in Saudi Arabia in Newsweek’s 2026 Report

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) has been ranked 3rd best hospital in Saudi Arabia in the Newsweek World’s Best Hospitals 2026 report—its highest national ranking to date and a significant rise from 5th place last year. JHAH also maintained its position as the 2nd highest‑ranked private hospital in the Kingdom, reaffirming its status as a leading provider of specialized, high‑quality care.

This achievement reflects JHAH’s continued growth, its commitment to excellence and the collective effort of every member of the organization.

A Ranking Built on Quality, Expertise and Patient Experience

Newsweek’s annual ranking evaluates hospitals across 32 countries using a rigorous methodology that incorporates four key data sources:

  • Hospital quality metrics
  • Peer recommendations from medical professionals
  • Patient experience data
  • PROMs implementation

JHAH’s strong performance across these categories underscores its leadership in delivering safe, effective and patient-centered care.

“We are honored to be recognized among the top hospitals in Saudi Arabia,” said Dr. Howard Podolsky, JHAH Chief Executive Officer.

Achieving 3rd place nationally is a testament to the dedication expertise and compassion of our entire team.

Patient Centered Care as a Defining Strength

As a Planetree GOLD‑recognized organization since 2020, JHAH continues to place the human experience at the heart of its mission. PROMs are integrated across several specialties, ensuring that patients’ voices directly inform treatment effectiveness and quality of life improvements.

Expanding Access in Alignment with Vision 2030

In alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, JHAH officially opened its services to the public, expanding access to high‑quality care and contributing to national healthcare transformation goals.

A Year Marked by Major Clinical and Organizational Achievements

JHAH earned several prestigious accreditations and recognitions over the past year, including:

  • Recognition for superior surgical outcomes
  • Top-tier performance in adult heart surgery
  • Accreditation of the Nursing Residency Program

These achievements highlight the depth of JHAH’s clinical capabilities and the dedication of its multidisciplinary teams.

Advancing Inclusive Care and Digital Transformation

This year also marked an important step forward in inclusive care, as JHAH became the first Certified Autism Center in the Eastern Province, ensuring that neurodiverse patients and their families receive evidence based, compassionate support. Al Hasa Health Center received a Baby-Friendly Hospital accreditation, the first private hospital in Al Hasa to earn the accreditation.

We also once again achieved the Mowa’amah Gold Standard reaccreditation, marking the organization’s fourth consecutive term. Another achievement came at the 7th Ada’a Health Program Awards, where JHAH secured first place in the Emergency Care Pathway and third place in the Primary Care Pathway.

A Collective Achievement and a Shared Future

“These accomplishments reflect the dedication, passion and teamwork of every department across JHAH,” said Dr. Howard Podolsky. “Whether through advancing clinical outcomes, elevating patient experience or expanding access to care, each individual has played a vital role in this success. Together, we will continue building on this momentum and shaping the future of healthcare in the Kingdom.”
