JHAH Extended Telemedicine Appointments Pilot

The pilot provides JHAH-registered patients with an option. They will now be able speak to a qualified primary care provider between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., seven days a week by calling 800-305-4444 or booking an appointment via MyChart.

Below is a guide to what our extended telemedicine primary care service can offer:

• Treatment for common diseases
• Counseling and education
• Addressing mental health issues
• Assessing urgent symptoms and conditions
• Providing expert advice
• Answering queries regarding laboratory test results
• Prescriptions for acute conditions only
• Supporting with prescription refills for existing and non-controlled drugs only (unless a patient has not had a primary care visit in the last six months, in which case patients need to book an in-person primary care appointment as per standard practice)
• Refer to physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

For the following healthcare concerns, please book an in-person appointment between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. with primary care or a telemedicine appointment in MyChart.

• Refer to any other specialty services except those offered by the extended telephone primary care service
• Book Lab tests or diagnostics
• Initiate new medications for chronic conditions
• Make, change or cancel any appointments
